Generation Change is a 9-week video-driven class with group discussions each week. It’s designed to educate teens and young adults on how to handle money God’s way, while growing in their understanding of who they are in Jesus Christ. To develop godly virtues that will last a lifetime. The class has three core concepts: 1) who God created us as, and how to lean in to that identity, 2) God’s way of handling money, and how to reflect God with this important area of our lives, and 3) how every decision we make affects our story, and how to live the life God has for us. This class will be led by Dan and Amy Navarra and Debbie Smallwood. Cost: Free
We all have desire to grow in our intimacy and love with the Lord. As we journey along the way research suggests that some of us will lose our passion for the Lord and grow cold in our faith. Since the early days, the church has taught members how to develop and grow in intimacy with the Lord. This class will provide the biblical and historical foundations for practices in Christian spirituality. We will also spend time understanding and learning the spiritual practices that will help us grow. If you feel that you are stuck in your spiritual growth. This class aims to help you jump start into a new life of intimacy and love for the Lord. This class will be led by David Tan. Cost: $15
This class is designed to show how cultural context is foundational to understanding stories from Jesus’ life. Each week, we will look at a different place Jesus went and unpack stories of that place to draw practical spiritual application. This class will be led by Dave Nieuwsma. Cost: Free
Closer to Christ is designed for single or married adults to spend time in God’s word. As a group we select a book in the Bible and work through it verse by verse. We discuss what we read and apply it to our lives. We welcome new members at any time; no matter where we are in our study. This is a great class for the new believer as well as the seasoned Christ follower. This class is ongoing.
The One Way class is an ongoing adult Bible study class. Each week there is a time of fellowship and then prayer. Starting September 10, we will study “MARTIN LUTHER: The Man Who Rediscovered Grace”. Five-hundred years ago, a young monk looking for a debate, nailed some notes to a church door and almost by mistake launched the Protestant Reformation. This study will look at the story of this man’s life and how he took on Rome and the power of the Pope with little more than “saved by grace alone through faith alone”. While being hunted by one of the most powerful men on earth, Luther founded the Protestant Church and wrote extensively on the true nature of our faith. This class is led by Scott Hogue and Marty Zuidervaart.
We long for a home that is a haven from a world riddled with conflict, but the reality for too many families, even Christian families, is different. For them home is a place of skirmishes between family members, where personal desires collide and peace isn’t found. In Peacemaking for Families Ken Sande and Tom Raabe show that family conflict is inevitable and normal, a legacy of our birth into sin. Using Scripture and stories from family life, the authors offer hope and help. Please join us for the 13 week class, for parents, guardians, and grandparents. This class will be led by Aimee Silva and starts August 20. Cost: $10
Do you feel stuck? So many of us live stuck. Stuck trying to seem perfect. Stuck in sadness. Stuck feeling numb. Stuck pursuing more stuff. Stuck in something we can’t even name. These stuck places often go unattended inside of us and they shape our lives more than we would like to think. We’ve been trying to fix this feeling with everything but God. He has a plan for these spaces inside of us, the places we feel broken, but we have to go to Him. Stuck is a journey to take an honest look at the fight going on inside, leading us to the God who has a plan to restore it, to restore us. This class will be co-led by Ashley Mutchler, Holly Tacoma, Pam Warda and Julie Reich. Cost: $15.
